Aims

TIMES² (formerly known as iCite) draws together researchers working at the intersection of management and economics and is conducting research in the areas of innovation, intellectual property, transformation, entrepreneurship, operations, supply chain, and strategy with a strong focus on sustainability. We pursue a primarily quantitative-empirical research approach as well as quantitative methods. Our goal is to make a significant scientific contribution to our research fields, which is also expressed through publications in leading international journals. Members of our institute published in international journals such as the Journal of Product Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Management Science, Research Policy, Information Economics & Policy, and International Journal of Operations and Production Management.

Furthermore, we intend to provide companies and policymakers with new insights and practically relevant tools. Therefore, we conduct multidisciplinary research at the intersection of economics and management in collaboration with various corporate and government partners to ensure empirically relevant, scientific contributions and practical benefits for organizations and society as a whole.

Our research projects are funded by the European Commission, Fonds National de la Recherche Scientifique, National Bank of Belgium and Innoviris. Within ULB, we conduct extent collaborative projects with the i3h Institute (healthcare and translational medicine), FARI (AI and robotics), and the Start LabBrussels.

Our Ph.D.-students are jointly educated in our Ph.D-schools in management and economics together with CEBRIG and ECARES. During the year we organize joined Brownbag series with our colleagues from VUB, invite guest speakers and plan social events for our members.
